Vom SGGEE-Vorstand erhielt ich heute folg. Rückmeldung. 

Brigitte & Dieter, falls es Probleme mit der Anmeldung geben sollte, könnt Ihr mich direkt anschreiben.

Wie Rose Ingram schreibt, wechseln innerhalb des SGGEE-Vorstandes alle 2 Jahre die Direktoren. Die bisherigen Absprachen zw. AgoFF + SGGEE basieren ausschließlich auf Emails. Es wäre wünschenswert, wenn unser neuer Vorstand im kommenden Jahr eine Papierfassung erstellt und an die SGGEE schickt.

Hi Gerhard,

Ray Bloch, President of SGGEE, as asked me to write to you.
The Executive Committee has agreed to the following:

1.  To grant to the following AGoFF members Honorary membership for a further two years, being 2010 and 2011 -

Irmgard Mueller,   (group Petrikau)
Stefan Balzer,   (group Tomaschow)
Beate Harbich-Schoenert,   (group Lodz)

Hilde Moeller (pending notification from Gerhard Koenig whether she wishes to keep her membership)

2.  To grant Honorary Membership to two new members of AGoff heading up new research areas, for 2 years, being 2010 and 2011 -

Brigitte Marufke  (group Pabianice)
Dieter Pechner  (group Kalisch).

3.  And to review their membership every 2 years, in consultation with Gerhard Koenig, or his assignee.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any recorded decisions or agreements in SGGEE Executive records from about 2004-2005, regarding the matter of length of time for Honorary membership to the AGoFF members, only email discussions with general agreement to Honorary memberships and exchange of Journals.   

In light of this, the present Executive have elected to review Honorary Membership every two years.  There may be a change in the team Leaders over time so this review makes sense.  There will also be change in Board members at SGGEE over time, so it is necessary to keep track of this matter.   This entire email will also be saved and attached SGGEE records.

The honorary memberships will be automatically extended for a further two years for Irmgard, Stefan, and Beate.   Please let us know if we should extend the membership for Hilde Moeller. 

The new Honorary Members, Brigitte and Dieter, will be notified directly by Ted Belke.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.

  my current request is based on the agreements between directors of
  SGGEE and AgoFF in 2004/05. I'm former member of board of directors
  in the AgoFF and try to support our connections between our societies
  currently. John Marsch (President), Howard Krushel (library) and Rose
  Ingram (database) were involved.

  Points of this agreement (acc. to my knowledge from 2004/05):

  - SGGEE library receive all publications of AgoFF (4x Arbeitsbericht,
    6-8x AOFF, 4x OFK per year)
  - SGGEE sends its journals to the library in Herne, Germany (4x per year)
  - AgoFF group leader support the SGGEE database entries
  - AgoFF group leader with same research region as SGGEE receive Honorary
    Memberships in SGGEE

  SGGEE Board members does not have a problem with the above as was
  discussed between John Marsch and yourself and I believe the
  publications are being shared between our Societies.
  One of the objectives of our society is fostering relations with sister
  organizations with same research interest.

  Is there an option to allow Honorary membership in AGoFF to
  some 'selected' SGGEE members or members of the Board of Directors?
  It is difficult for us to know what each team leader is doing.
  I remember at one time the AGoFF website had a webpage giving names
  and email address of the various team area leaders and their area of
  research. I do not see this any more, or am I missing it somewhere.
  My German is not good.  

  Could you please clarify what is intended by AgoFF group leader support
  the SGGEE database entries.  I'm not sure what this means.

  My contact email address for changes since 2004 is the current address 
  membership@sggee.org. Whenever corrections had to be done, I sent them
  to this email address.  
  Yes, this is the correct address for email address changes.

  Please, let me know about the actual status.

  For your information Agoff members with Honorary Memberships in SGGEE:

  M071: Mueller, Irmgard (group Petrikau)
  B086: Balzer, Stefan (group Tomaschow)
  S104: Seifert, Mario (former leader Mittelpolen, EXP)
  M053: Moeller, Hilde (Posen)
  S103: Harbich-Schoenert, Beate (Lodz)

  All of the above have Honorary membership to end of 2009, except for
  Mario.  

  Judging from an e-mail from John Marsch in October 2007, he was going
  to check with you whether Mr. Seifert warranted a further extension of
  2 years.  Since there was no extension given, I'm assuming you agreed
  to let his Honorary membership lapse.   If this is not correct, please
  let us know.

  If you wish to recommend new people for honorary membership, it would
  be best in the future to write to directors@sggee.org. 
  The Board of Directors need to formally approve any Honorary memberships
  and will then advise the Membership@sggee.org chairman.  In the past it
  was easy because John Marsch was both on the Board and also membership
  chairman.  John has now retired from all matters with SGGEE and trying
  to work on his own genealogy and enjoy retirement which is well
  deserved..  

  I note you wish to recommend two new team Leaders of newly created
  groups. What have they done in their areas? 

  The Board reviews the AGoFF members Honorary membership every two years
  (as well as other Honorary Memberships).  We realize Irmgard Mueller
  and Beate Schoenert have promoted SGGEE and our databases.   
  I believe you mentioned a few years ago that Hilde Moeller was having
  some difficulties with creating a username and password at SGGEE.
  Has she been able to access the member's only section on our website?
  Does she use the resources at SGGEE?

I have no authority to award Honorary Memberships they are awarded by
the Executive Committee.  I am sending a copy of this request to SGGEE
board President Ray Bloch so that can brought forward to the Executive
Committee for consideration. When a decision has been I will respond
accordingly.
