Yes, he is right, all directories are linked to the direktory /gene.- To be a real mirror on Your site (Dave) has to be exist a directory /gene that include all the pages. Thats the r3eason I don't are able to view german.genealogy.net :-) Rainer am 18-Dec-98 schrieb der ach so ferne Rechner von Jim Eggert :
Our index page at german.genealogy.net is a bit messed up.
First, the directory structure there is different. At www and www2, you go through a top-level directory gene. At german, you can't.
Second, none of the three servers' index pages refer to german.genealogy.net, except that german's index page refers to http://w3g.med.uni-giessen.de/gene but the link is really to http://german.genealogy.net/index.html.
So may I suggest:
1. Make the directory structures parallel between all three servers, with the top level directory gene. Note that the mirroring scheme may have to be altered to make this work correctly.
2. Fix the index pages on all three to refer correctly to all three servers, using the domain names www.genealogy.net, www2.genealogy.net, and german.genealogy.net. (Should have to do this on just www2, and the others will mirror this.)
This has the advantage of agreeing with the FAQ v2.2.1 I just released!
