Dear All, I just noted that we haven't had a broken link ckeck since Jim Eggert's and Arthur Teschler's effort of May 13th : this will be at least partly caused by the work and time involved to produce such a nice and easy to read report. On my Medical Physics pages (only 30 of them so far - so a much smaller task) I use http://www.netmechanic.com/link_check.htm which takes ages, but can run in the background - you have to enter an e-mail address and are notified when they are finished; you then have two days to view the result on a web page (rather a series of web pages). This would require much less time to "create" - but would be much more time consuming to read, I suppose ! The alternative would be that we all use this service directly - just for "our own" pages. Any comments ? I have mentioned my Medical Physics pages - have a look at http://www.sgsmp.ch/ but wait for a few days : hopefully early next week the upgraded pages will be loaded, including a full text search on the entire domain, using a feature offered by HotBot - would something like this be considered worthwhile for our Genealogy Pages as well ? They offer this feature for subdirectories as well - but it doesn't work (with me) : I have reported this to their help desk and hope for a reply and remedy.
