AW: [webpages-l] sitemap_m.html
For the Swiss pages I have spent days (well - not full time) to edit the page titles (in some cases enter additionally the "sitemap titles" allowed with FreeFind) to create http://swiss.genealogy.net/sitemap.htm This included (at some levels where new pages are not expected) even numbers to get the sequence I wanted. Now when I add new pages, I just have to tell FreeFind to re-spider from a given start-page. This is OK - but I cannot imagine anyone doing hand-editing a sitemap (especially as large as for all German Genealogy pages) regularly. Consequently we have to rely on the titles, and I guess it will take a lot of discipline (and a lot of time) to make it (at least close to) perfect. Best regards - Wolf

My oh my, I never imagined that the program would be attempting such a level of intelligence. The filenames were never a part of the public interface and have often been chosen rather whimsically. Certainly there has been little, if any attempt made to regularize them., Considering that, it's a wonder that this works at all, much less as well as it does.............
