My 2nd round thoughts on this page include putting the page into a form of the Xland format. Since everyone using the site will be familiar or need to be familiar with Xland, why not, after all?

In other words you're substituting this for the present Beginner's tip page? Certain items (like archives and libraries etc) should really link to the main Germany pages. This this would work fine. One problem I still have with our pages is getting to a good solid list of archives all over Germany. Hanazek's pages are often not available for some reason. BAWUE.DE is a tough site to get into. Can't we get this list directly into our server?

Probably the most different part is the Introduction where I try to discuss the basic steps in starting genealogy. Fred, following your earlier thought, this might be good to tie in with the helpde-l team somehow.
