The work was started by my father and focusses on the ECKOLDT family. The family tree goes back to 1525 and contains some 500 related names. I have spent the last 1o years in German Archives and have associated court documents, inheritance papers etc. Where can I put the data, so that it will not be lost. If somebody could help me, I am new to this internet business. Roger, I forwarded your request to the webpages-l team who work on the German genealogy pages where you probably got my address. It is always important to preserve the past especially if it took many years of work to unearth it. I'm a little confused as to whether you have documents or electronic data which you wish to store. If you are willing to learn a little more about the internet you could easily build your own website which the world could then have access to. Free space is available in a variety of places. Actual documents should probably stay in the family if there is a responsible caretaker. If not, there are genealogical organization which collect and store valuable family histories and their associated documentation, as does the LDS Library in Utah. You might want to let me know a little more about what you have in mind. Perhaps someone else can also add to the discussion.
