Dear Jim, irrespective what can/could be done at genealogy.net (which I cannot comment on) - possibly http://httrack.free.fr/ could do the job - has worked perfectly for me on http://www.gutenbergdigital.de/ Beware if you want to copy the Gutenberg Bible yourself: you need some 800MB free space on your HD ;-)) ! As you know, I have been maintaining a private mirror of the genealogy.net website.

The purpose of this is to allow me to check the integrity of our web offering, produce a site map, and to guard against network and site access problems. The mirror is performed with a script via ftp access to www.genealogy.net.

I haven't been updating the mirror very often, though, and a problem is now cropping up: I don't have ftp access privileges any more.
