Rick, we have discussed it. See top 2 lines of the new top-level pages. There we have implemented "Beginners tips" and "General help".

To my memory, we discussed splitting it, but not how to split it. By what method did you decide which items should be in misc/anfanger.html and which items should be in misc/tips.html?

You are right. You have just brought up the idea of splitting it. I have done the following: just delete the first line of the old TOC - Allgemeine Informationen / Getting started in Internet Genealogy and put this to anfaenger.html and anfaenger-d.html - All the rest I left in the tips(-d).html page as it was.
